چکیده

Purpose: Cypermethrin (class II) belongs to pyrethroid insecticides which have been in wide use control various pests including moth of cotton, fruit and vegetable crops. This study was aimed investigate the effects cypermethrin on haematology female rats their modulation by co-administration sodium selenite. Methodology: Four equal groups were made (n=20). Group 1 received ml corn oil, 2 administered 55 mg/kg/b.w cypermethrin, 3 provided with ppm selenite 4 given both Haematological analysis blood samples performed employing Sesmex Kx-21 (Japan). Results: Red cell (RBC) count, haemoglobin concentration (Hb) hematocrit (Hct) significantly reduced (P<0.05) due treatment indicates that suffering from anaemia. While, rest hematological parameters i.e. platelet count (PLT), number lymphocytes, white (WBC) larger ratio (P-LCR), RBC distribution width (RDW), mean volume (MPV), (PDW), lymphocyte percentage (LYM), corpuscular (MCHC), (MCH) (MCV) non-significantly affected. Selenium coadministration found restore levels above-mentioned those group. Conclusion: Hence, it can be concluded this administration cause alterations rats. Co-administration selenium protection against toxicity some extent.

Renalase Protects against Contrast-Induced Nephropathy in Sprague-Dawley Rats

BACKGROUND Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is the third leading cause of hospital-acquired acute renal failure. Oxidative stress, apoptosis and inflammation play crucial roles in CIN. Renalase is a newly discovered monoamine oxidase from the kidney. We hypothesize that renalase could protect against CIN through anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation and anti-apoptosis pathways. METHODS We teste...

Maternal toxicity of methacrylonitrile in Sprague-Dawley rats.

Methacrylonitrile (MeAN) is used in the preparation of plastics, elastomers, homoand copolymers and coatings (Windholz, 1983; Sax and Lewis, 1987) and as a chemical intermediate in the preparation of numerous organic chemicals (Windholz, 1983). MeAN is also used as a replacement for acrylonitrile in the manufacture of carbonated beverage containers (Cosidine, 1974) and is identified as a compon...

Cytogenetic Evaluation of Malathion Toxicity in Sprague- Dawley Rats

Among organophosphorus pesticides, malathion is considered a relatively safe compound. Malathion, however, functions by inhibiting cholinesterase (ChE) enzymes of the nervous system in both vertebrate and invertebrate organisms. The inactivation of ChE by malathion is therefore a useful indicator of exposure. Because of the increased application of these pesticides, their entry into various env...
